What the Advanced Cable Tester Provides
The Advanced Cable Tester is a set of applications for the Promira™ Serial Platform, which provides the ability to test USB cables with the use of Advanced Cable Tester Hardware. Two Levels of Cable Tester Applications
- The Advanced Cable Tester - Level 1 Application provides continuity testing, DC resistance measurement, and E-Marker verification.
- The Advanced Cable Tester - Level 2 Application provides Level 1 capabilities as well as evaluating cable signal integrity at up to 12Gbps.
Test Additional USB Type Cables
The Advanced Cable Tester alone supports testing USB Type-C cables. Adapters are available to test other types of cables:
- Standard-A to Micro-B (USB 2.0 & USB 3.1)
- Standard-A to Type-C (USB 2.0 & USB 3.1)
- Standard-A to Lightning (USB 2.0)
- Type-C to Micro-B (USB 2.0 & USB 3.1)
What the USB Power Delivery Analyzer Provides
The USB Power Delivery Analyzer captures the Power Delivery protocol traffic on the USB Type-C connector. It connects in-line between two Type-C products and passively captures all communication between those products on the CC1 and CC2 signals. This video shows an example of using this analyzer with Type-C products.
